A look back at 2008
shows a lot gone wrong
stock markets bottom fell over
blasts and terror trails hounded us into cover
Whole world went into economic turmoil
McCain voted out by Obama
Lives elsewhere gunned off by Osama
Channel upon channel…
… made mincemeat out of issues
And issues out of mince meat
A look back at this almost gone by year
Leaves all but the newsmen in tears
They broke news upon news
With all channels crying over exclusives
dead bodies lying around just became incentives
Journalism once used to be responsible
Its form now is just inexplicable
24 hr. channels dish out infotainment
Whether it’s dirty laundry
Or pure disdainment…
Anchors look like actors..
Speaking loudly or too slowly..
When did presenter overpower the presentation?
Why did news overpower reality?
How did News become an abuse?
I wrote this poem against all these reckless news channels who speak whatever comes to their minds in the name of public opinion.Their anchors are worth zilch,actors from some C-grade movie who only know how to put fear into people's heart.I miss those DD days...
